A Decorated Veteran Speaks Up, Gets the Boot

Lt. Col Matthew Dooley, a West Point graduate and highly-decorated combat veteran, was an instructor at the Joint Forces Staff College at the National Defense University. He had 19 years of service and experience, and was considered one of the most highly qualified military instructors on Radical Islam & Terrorism.

He taught military students about the situations they would encounter, how to react, about Islamic culture, traditions, and explained the mindset of Islamic extremists. Passing down first hand knowledge and experience, and teaching courses that were suggested (and approved) by the the Joint Forces Staff College. The course “Perspectives on Islam and Islamic Radicalism” ,which was suggested and approved by the Joint Forces Staff College, caught the attention of several Islamic Groups, and they wanted to make an example of him.

They collectively wrote a letter expressing their outrage, and the Pro-Islamic Obama Administration was all too happy to assist. The letter was passed to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff , Martin Dempsey. Dempsey publicly degraded and reprimanded Dooley, and Dooley received a negative Officer Evaluation Report almost immediately (which he had aced for the past 5 years). He was relieved of teaching duties, and his career has been red-flagged.

The Obama Administration has demonstrated lightning speed to dismiss Military brass that does not conform to it’s agenda, and not surprisingly, nobody is speaking up for Lt. Col. Dooley.

IT’S A SAD DAY FOR THIS COUNTRY WHEN GOOD LOYAL MEN LIKE THIS GET THROWN UNDER THE BUS BECAUSE NOBODY HAS THE COURAGE TO STAND UP!

Two Patients – Different Care

This is NOT a joke. It may sound like one but its not funny at all.

Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint.
Both have trouble walking and appear to require hip surgery.

The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, x-rayed the same day
and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn’t reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then PENDING the Medical Review Board’s decision upon his age and remaining value to society.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The FIRST is a Golden Retriever taken to a vet.

The SECOND is a Senior Citizen on Obama care…

You might find yourselves saying…. “we seniors may all need to find a good vet.”

Sarah Palin, an American Phenomenon

Received her bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism in 1987.

She worked as a sportscaster for KTUU-TV and KTVA-TV in Anchorage.

She helped in her husband Todd with a commercial fishing business.

She and husband Todd owned a snowmobile, watercraft, ATV business

She was a member of the Wasilla, Alaska City Council from 1992 to 1996.
Wasilla Mayor from 1996 to 2002.

She chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission .

She was the youngest person and the first woman elected Governor of Alaska.

She served as governor from December 2006 until she resigned in 2009, rather than becoming a lame duck and continuing to defend against what she regarded as frivolous ethics complaints.

Chosen by Republican Party Presidential candidate John McCain in August 2008 to be his running mate . She was the first Alaskan on the national ticket of a major party. And the first female vice-presidential nominee of the Republican Party.

Wrote a Best Seller, Going Rogue: An American Life . And wrote America By Heart. Political commentator to the Fox News Channel. Has her own TV show, called Sarah Palin’s Alaska.

Palin opposed the 2010 health care reform package, saying it would lead to rationing of health care by a bureaucracy, which she described using the term “death panels”. This legislation is the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, as modified by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010. Palin characterizes the act as an “unfunded mandate”, and supports defunding it. Palin supports repeal of portions of the act.

Palin is a strong supporter of Israel. Referring to Iran’s threat to Israel, Palin said Obama would be reelected if “he played the war card. Say he decided to declare war on Iran or decided really come out and do whatever he could to support Israel, which I would like him to do.”

Palin opposes same-sex marriage, abortion including in cases of rape and incest, and embryonic stem cell research. She supports capital punishment, and parental consent for female minors seeking an abortion, and supports creationism being taught as an option in public schools.

Palin supports sex education in public schools that encourage abstinence along with contraception.

A Life Member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), Palin interprets the Second Amendment as including the right to handgun possession, and opposes bans on semi-automatic assault weapons. and supports gun safety education for youth.

Palin supports off-shore drilling, and land-based drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. When commenting on the Gulf Coast oil disaster Palin said, “I repeat the slogan ‘drill here, drill now.’” She said, “I want our country to be able to trust the oil industry.” Palin asked supporters to read an article by Thomas Sowell which criticized Obama for having BP pay to an escrow fund.

Palin has expressed skepticism about the causes of global warming, but agrees that “man’s activities certainly can be contributing to the issue” and that action should be taken. She is opposed to cap-and-trade proposals, such as the American Clean Energy and Security Act, a bill still pending in the Senate. Palin has acknowledged that “Simply waiting for low-carbon-emitting renewable capacity to be large enough will mean that it will be too late to meet the mitigation goals..that will be required [for carbon dioxide] under most credible climate-change models.”

On foreign policy, Palin supported the Bush Administration’s policies in Iraq, but is concerned that “dependence on foreign energy” may be obstructing efforts to “have an exit plan in place”. Palin supports preemptive military action in the face of an imminent threat, and supports U.S. military operations in Pakistan. Palin supports NATO membership for Ukraine and Georgia, and affirms that if Russia invaded a NATO member, the United States should meet its treaty obligations.

On foreign policy, Palin supported the surge strategy in Iraq, the use of additional ground forces in Afghanistan, and, in general, maintaining a strong defensive posture by increasing the defense budget. She supports strengthening America’s alliance with Japan. She supports the de-nuclearization of North Korea. She supports free trade and wants to work with China to reduce American debt and improve the human rights and political freedom of its citizens.

Republican Senator Bill Frist cares about “The Children’s Famine in Somalia”

Sometimes Republicans and Democrats can find common ground. Over this past weekend I ran into Senator Bill Frist, (R) TN and he told me he’d been in a meeting with the President discussing the drought in Somalia. He said he was leaving on a plane the next morning and was taking along Vice President Joe Biden’s wife; Jill Biden. Senator Frist has always been a physician first and a Senate member second. His interest is in the children of Somalia who are dying from something we take for granted was touching. “Basically they are dying from lack of clean water” he said. It is no secret there has been a drought in Somalia. The senator expressed genuine concern and as he spoke about why he wanted to go there I thought about what he was saying and could picture it clearly in my mind.  ”More than 29,000 young children have died of malnutrition and disease in Somalia in the past 90 days. We are now on our way to the Horn of Africa to see what more we as a nation can do.  The President agrees this is the right thing to do.”

Senator Bill Frist is on a trip to Kenya with Dr. Jill Biden and USAID Administrator Raj Shah to learn more about famine and the crisis in the Horn of Africa.

“Early Sunday morning, our plane leaves Washington, D.C., bound for East Africa. I’m flying with Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden and USAID Administrator Raj Shah to study the famine’s effects on the lives of more than 12 million people, many of them children.

In fact, it is now being called “the children’s famine.”

In such a developed world as the one we live in I do wonder why precious children go unnoticed by the likes of NATO, the UN and other human rights organizations. Sure they talk a good game but when it comes right down to it there is little or no action to go along with the lip service.

A Brief Primer on Somalia

It’s all about natural resources.  Somalia is located on the Horn of Africa.  For much of its history, Somalia was a strategic trading location between much of Asia and the interior of Africa, and as we see in the news everyday now, it is still a rather strategic point for international trade in the Gulf of Aden after going through the Suez Canal, linking the Mediterranean with the Indian Ocean.

somaliaWhen it comes to the physical landscape of Somalia, there is not a lot of agricultural land available, and thus parts of the country are forced to the seas to supplement its diet and economy.  The dry, highland landscape that dominates the northern parts of Somalia forces a pastoral form of agriculture.  There are river valleys in the southern part of Somalia, which allows some cropland; however, as Somalia has been in nearly constant conflict for the last 18 years, there is little farming going on.  In fact, the World Food Programme estimates that there are more than 3 million Somalis that are entirely dependent on food aid  .  Unfortunately, with the increase in piracy in 2008, food aid has been discontinued for security reasons.

Please sign the ONE petition today to urge world leaders to provide the full funding that the UN has identified as necessary to help people in the Horn of Africa, and please keep your promises to deliver the long term solutions which could prevent crises like this from happening again. 

 Islam in Somalia

Although not expressed in my conversation with the senator it is no secret that “Political Islam” in Somalia is a concern shared by many. Since the attacks of 911 Political Islam has gained popularity there. Sharia Law is widely practiced, and the amputation of arms and legs, be-headings, honor killings have become the norm. The distinct nature of political Islam in Somalia can be understood in respect to the Somali clan system, which is segmented along patriarchal (the fathers) decent. For more on the history of Somalia read INFIDEL by Ayan Hirsi Ali. The more distant the relationship between quarreling people or groups, the bigger the unit will be which serves as the community of solidarity. It stands to reason then that a foreign threat unites Somalis clans. Islam can be seen as part of the ethic identity of Somalis, even among secular Somalis. It is no wonder therefore, that Islamist politics in Somalia have been the strongest, when they have been in opposition to a foreign, or non-Muslim threat, whether the threat is real or imagined it makes no difference to them.  It is a tool that can be used for short-term mass mobilization. That is the reason why radical Islam is more potent when Somalis find themselves as a minority threatened by secular or Christian regimes, as it is the case in the Ethiopian Ogaden region, in North Kenya or among the Diaspora in Europe and Northern America. I said all that to say this; it is important on the war against terror to bring good will to the people of Somalia. For Somalians to see the US take an interest in their lives can only help us, and possibly bridge the divide between peoples. Political Islam in itself is a hate filled system of government within Islam. Many Christians are slaughtered by Somalians.

Ron Paul Within Days of 2012 Presidential Bid Announcement

Texas Congressman Ron Paul could be set to officially announce whether or not he is running for the Republican 2012 nomination this week with a series of back to back high profile media appearances.

The Libertarian favorite is scheduled to appear today on The View, Hannity, and The Colbert Report. Officially these appearances are to promote Paul’s new book, Liberty Defined, yet they could serve as a platform for the announcement the Congressman’s supporters have been awaiting with baited breath for months.

The first meaningful 2012 debate is set for May 5th, a week Thursday, as Fox News and the Republican Party of South Carolina host a debate among Republican candidates at the Peace Center in Greenville, S.C.

In order to be included in the debate, candidates must meet certain criteria by April 29th.

Eligibility requirements include registering a presidential exploratory committee or presidential campaign with the Federal Election Commission; filing paperwork to be on the ballot for president in South Carolina; paying a $25,000 filing fee to the state Republican Party; and averaging 1 percent in the five most recent national polls.

In comments to the Spartanburg Herald Journal last week, Ron Paul’s campaign manager Jesse Benton said that the Congressman will meet the criteria and will participate in the debate. Indeed, the Congressman has begun setting up a presidential exploratory committee, to “test the waters” for a formal run.

“…as a final decision draws closer, his team has put the pieces in place for him to flip a switch and hit the ground running if he decides to run for president.” Benton told Politico.

Benton also said that Paul would base a decision to run in 2012 in part on the response he receives at the May 5 debate.

The latest reports indicate that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Governor from Minnesota Tim Pawlenty, former Louisiana governor Buddy Roemer, and former US Senator Rick Santorum will also be participating in the debate.

Following the Fox News debate, the next scheduled event is a CNN sponsored debate in New Hampshire on June 7th.

Meanwhile Ron Paul’s Liberty Defined reached a high of number nine on Amazon.com’s bestsellers chart last week. Now at number 26 overall, the book is still currently the top selling political publication with the online giant.
